Bach to Rock, the nation’s leading music franchise, has released a detailed 2014 Franchise Disclosure Document that offers radical transparency to potential franchisees, providing the tools needed to build an informed projection for the business. Included in the document are figures that span five years of sales at Bach to Rock schools.

The FDD shows a pattern of sustained revenue growth in Bach to Rock affiliate-owned schools from 2009 to 2013. The average revenue of existing schools was: $345,787 at the end of year one, $522,761 at year two, $578,041 at year three, $662,460 at year four and $699,711 at year five.

The direct margin on goods and services sold was higher than 70% for all Bach to Rock Schools in 2013.

“When you look at the money that can be potentially generated by a Bach to Rock franchise and combine it with the extreme need in the marketplace for high-quality music education, it’s easy to see why our brand is taking off,” said Brian Gross, Bach to Rock president. “Our schools are sustainable and show the ability to ramp up quickly.”

Bach to Rock encourages students to explore the music they love and then play that music in bands that perform in the community. Owners praise the music school franchise for combining a close attention to profitability with a meaningful career path in music education.

“We are excited to be a part of a music franchise that is revolutionizing the way music is taught in this country,” said Glenn Fleischman, co-owner of Bach to Rock in Port Washington, New York. “We like to think that we are doing for music what Starbucks did for coffee — taking what has been a commodity product and turning it into a great experience.”

The Bach to Rock franchise has six corporate-owned schools — two in Maryland and four in Virginia. The first Bach to Rock franchise school opened in 2013, and there are now a total of five franchise schools in New York, Pennsylvania and California. More franchise schools are in the pipeline, and the company expects to triple in size by 2015.
