Bach to Rock Music School Delivers a New Sound to Nanuet

Bach to Rock (B2R), America’s music school for students of all ages, announced today it is opening a new school in the Rockland County hamlet of Nanuet, New York.   The community is invited to the grand opening festivities on Saturday, April 1, from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at 150 East Route 59, Nanuet, NY 10954. Attendees are welcome to tour the school, enjoy a free music lesson, learn about individual lessons and group classes, try out free toddler “Mommy and Me” classes, take a spin at becoming a DJ, enter into prize drawings and giveaways, check out the recording studio, and meet the teachers.

“At Bach to Rock we offer an innovative approach to music lessons.   We know learning music should be fun, and that students learn best when they play music they love,” said President of Bach to Rock, Brian Gross.  “Students jump right into playing their favorites and our teachers expertly nurture their potential as they progress. Families in Nanuet will be thrilled with our methodology, as well as how our schools become an integral part of the community,” said Gross.

Leading the Nanuet school is a new Bach to Rock franchisee, Eric Philo.  As a former investment banker and corporate analyst, he knows Bach to Rock is a solid business proposition.  However, it is his personal commitment to music education that motivates him to succeed.  Philo, an amateur musician who plays and composes music, wants to help kids break out of their digital habits through music. “Playing music opens so many opportunities for kids to interact.  They talk, laugh, joke – essentially they are connecting in a really creative way…in person,” said Philo. “I hope to forge those connections and let kids see how playing music can enrich their lives.”

Bach to Rock Nanuet will offer a variety of programs for students of all ages including: individual lessons; group classes such as Rock Band; the Beat Refinery DJ school; the Rock City program for preschooler and toddlers; Kids-n-Keys for children in grades K-2 interested in piano; along with summer camps and birthday parties. Studies have shown that learning to play music in a group helps students learn teamwork, develop social skills and build self-esteem, among other benefits.  Recently, Bach to Rock launched MyB2R, an online dashboard offering customers real-time access to student progress and more. MyB2R is the only digital service of its kind in the music school industry, and provides the ability to track student advancement, schedule lessons, obtain homework and stream over 300 pre-recorded songs to practice at home.

Bach to Rock is expanding at a robust and steady pace.  The franchise has repeatedly been named to Entrepreneur’s Franchise 500 and was listed in the Top Ten Trending Categories for 2016. Franchise Times has ranked it as one of the 500 Powerhouse Brands and on its Next 300 Franchise System list.

Bach to Rock is currently seeking qualified candidates to open franchise locations in major metropolitan markets throughout the country. Bach to Rock is an opportunity for entrepreneurs to build a business that is dedicated to helping children and adults learn to play the music they love. Bach to Rock (B2R), America’s music school for students of all ages, announces it has launched MyB2R, the only digital service of its kind in the music school industry. MyB2R is an online information hub that extends learning beyond a single weekly lesson. From teacher assignments and student progress reports, to music libraries and lesson schedules, parents and students have the tools to understand teaching methods, monitor student goals and progress, and enhance the learning experience for each student.

“Bach to Rock is the only music school that offers an online, real-time information hub for facilitating improved communication between parents, teachers and students. With MyB2R, a detailed, live dashboard is at your fingertips now,” said President of Bach to Rock, Brian Gross. “We are very proud to offer this groundbreaking benefit to our customers.”  Bach to Rock provides a fun, engaging methodology to encourage continued advancement through the learning process, and MyB2R makes the methodology more readily accessible, understandable and attainable for students, their teachers and parents.

MyB2R enables students and parents to monitor a student’s musical learning advancement from beginner to expert. It features a highly visual format, featuring assignments, level progress, methodology and the music library. MyB2R provides benefits to students, parents and teachers alike:

  • Documents the individual skills each student is learning and mastering with each concept and assignment
  • Provides updates on curriculum progress and homework assignments and completion
  • Offers access to a music player library of 300+ multi-tracked and customized recordings of songs by instrument, for students of all levels to accompany
  • Shares insights into how each student is learning music – reading, writing, ear-training, playing by reading, playing by ear, improvisation and repertoire
  • Enables teachers to quickly update and monitor each student’s progress in the Bach to Rock curriculum and further assist in student development

“We hope MyB2R empowers students and parents because it answers the most common question we hear, ‘How is my student doing?’” said Bach to Rock Director of Curriculum and Training, Aaron Schmidt. With MyB2R, a student or parent can log in and see exactly how the student is progressing – what concepts have been mastered and what concepts are still to be learned. “Plus, an exciting feature is the music player library.  It makes practicing at home a lot more fun, which in turn propels a student to advance faster,” Schmidt said. Arrangements are simplified and customized by instrument, and by advancement level, so students can login and find their practice songs quickly and easily.

MyB2R is quick and easy to use, the dashboard provides an immediate update, and it complements personal feedback from teachers.  I can jump online any time and confidently know how my child is progressing in the curriculum,” said Toni K. Nelson, a parent from the Bach to Rock school in Herndon, Virginia.

Current Bach to Rock customers can access MyB2R with their dedicated, confidential login information at www.myb2r.com.

DJcityTV and Beat Refinery are back with a new episode of the tutorial series, Turntable Techniques. This time, DJ As-One demonstrates how to use “transition stingers” in DJ sets.

Transition stingers are exclusive performance tools that start at one tempo and end with a sample. They enable DJs to drop a song of any tempo immediately after the current track. By being able to jump around different BPM ranges, DJs can add creativity to their sets.

Watch As-One break down how to use stingers above and download them only on DJcity.
