Rock Keys 101

Rock Keys 101 is the ideal stepping stone for a beginning keyboard player who wants to join a band. By the end of an eight-week session, the student will be skilled enough to successfully participate in a band with his or her peers. The curriculum emphasizes learning chords, digital keyboard functions, song structure, and rock rhythms. The students will learn a repertoire of four classic rock songs that they will be able to perform by the end of eight weeks with other rock instrumentalists (drummers, guitars, and singers).

The students will also learn basic musical theory concepts such as scales, key signatures, and note names.

Each class will produce a CD in B2R’s state-of-the-art recording studio and participate in a jam simulation with other instrumentalists.
