Our Staff at McLean

Jennifer Gregor has been the Site Director of B2R McLean since it opened in February ’08. She holds a secondary education teaching licensure, taught in a number of VA public schools, and played the bass in several D.C. area indie rock bands in the 90s, including Gist and Ursula Major. In addition to having played guitar for over twenty years and bass for fifteen, she has ten years of classical piano experience. Prior to joining B2R, Jennifer was a two time Mid-Atlantic Cup Champion downhill mountain bike racer, a government contractor, and did marketing for an international environmental non-profit organization.

Adam Carluccio is the Assistant Site Director of B2R McLean. He holds a Business Management degree from East Carolina University and has taught in the Virginia public school system for the past three years. He has also been a music teacher for over ten years, and brings us professional experience on the piano, drums, guitar, bass guitar, and vocals. He also coaches bands. He has been the lead singer/song-writer for the band, To the Rescue, for the last eight years and has performed live in venues ranging from capacities of 25 to 2000+ people, as well as on the radio. One of his true passions is audio engineering: he is proficient in current Pro-Tools hardware, software, and MIDI components, and has over ten years of engineering experience that he's grateful to be able to put to use in B2R Studios.

Rick Wright is a Music Director, band coach, recording engineer and instrumental instructor at B2R McLean. He joined the team in August 2011, having just relocated from Seattle, WA, where he'd been leading his experimental pop band, Wesafari, for nearly 8 years. A lifelong songwriter raised in Pittsburgh, PA, he attended Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA receiving a BM in Music Business in 2001. He then built his professional music career composing and producing for clients like Microsoft and BlackBerry as well as numerous independent businesses and artists while releasing a string of critically acclaimed Wesafari albums and touring the West Coast. With an insatiable curiosity to explore any instrument he can get his hands on, Rick has studied vocal performance, guitar, bass, drums, and keyboards for twenty years as well as a multitude of brass, woodwind and stringed instruments. He encourages students to be creative through collaborative improvisation and exploration of music history. Some of his biggest musical influences include Caribou, Elliott Smith, the Clash, Neil Young, the Staple Singers, Spoon, and the Pixies.

Jeremy King teaches voice, guitar, bass, beginning saxophone, early childhood education, and coaches bands for B2R McLean. Jeremy is a working musician, composer, music director, and sound engineer based out of the DC area. He is the frontman for the DC based band Mass Ave, plays in pit orchestras all around the DC metro area, has acted and sung in numerous operettas and musical theater productions, and recently composed the score for Lysistrata...The Musical! for the DC Fringe Fest. Jeremy holds a BA with honors in Musical Theatre from American University. He looks forward to sharing his passion for music with his students, and being able to teach them more than just technique. Mass Ave's debut album is scheduled for a summer 2011 release.

Mark Schenker is a songwriter, recording artist, touring performer, producer and mixing engineer with a Masters Certificate in Songwriting from Berklee College of Music. He teaches guitar, bass, Recording Arts and coaches bands at B2R. Since 2004 Mark has toured as a bass player with multi-platinum selling rock band KIX, performing at festivals and selling out large venues all over the US. Mark has extensive knowledge of commercial recording techniques having worked on projects with Billboard top 40 songwriters and multi-platinum producers in a multitude of professional studio environments. He is currently endorsed by Warwick Basses, DR Strings, Morley Pedals, Rockstand/Rockbag, Sims LED and Tech 21. Mark is a member of American MENSA, a voting member of NARAS (Grammy.com) and has a professional membership in Nashville Songwriters Association International. Marks musical influences include Rush, The Who, Paul McCartney, Led Zeppelin and Aerosmith.

Alison O’Brien teaches vocals, piano, coaches bands, and teaches early education at B2R McLean. She performed nationally and internationally with The World Children’s Choir for seven years as a soloist and lead soprano. She holds a B.S. in Psychology from George Mason University (2010), and graduated with honors in music from Bishop O’Connell High School in Arlington, VA. Alison recorded her first professional CD at Chaton Studios in Scottsdale, AZ this summer (2010) - with future recordings coming down the pike. She looks forward to sharing her love of music, composition, and performance with her students.

Matt Cummings is a Music Specialist and band coach at B2R McLean. Matt is a professional musician who has attended Berklee College of Music, toured the East Coast, performed in hundreds of venues, and has produced music with numerous major label recording acts. With a number 2 single on the national college radio charts, and years of performing, recording, and teaching experience, Matt has gained a vast knowledge of rock, jazz, blues, funk and hip hop music and specializes in guitar, bass, piano and vocals. Matt's musical inspiration comes from Stevie Wonder, Jimi Hendrix, Dave Matthews Band, and Soulive.

Dean Cramer is a Music Specialist and band coach at B2R McLean. He is no stranger to the world of rock. He's been a working full-time musician since the mid-80s, and has taught privately for over 25 years. He is the guitarist of local favorites, Funny Money, and Dean Cramer's So Low (get it? so-lo). In 2010, Dean Cramer's So Low beat out 80 other bands for the chance to open for KISS. Dean is endorsed by ModTone Effects and Clayton picks.

Queally Hudson teaches guitar, piano, voice, and early childhood education at Bach 2 Rock. She graduated from American University in 2010 with a BA in Music Composition. She has studied classical piano since age 5, in college studying under Yuliya Gorenman, who won the Queen Elisabeth Competition in Belgium, and worldwide competition, in 1995. Queally grew up listening to the Beatles and learning classic blues and rock skills on guitar from her Dad. She has been in several bands, writing songs, playing guitar and piano, and singing in local venues. Queally loves sharing her passion for music. She also has a cat named Paw McCatney.

Eugene Iosilevich is a piano teacher and band coach at B2R McLean and B2R South Riding. Eugene holds a professional certificate from the Armed Forces School of Music, has studied jazz at Berklee College of Music as well as classical piano and composition at Syracuse University. Eugene has extensive professional and teaching experience which includes playing keyboard for the Army Band for 8 years. His diverse musical performances in the Army included jazz combos, rock bands, show bands ( R&B, Country, and Pop), stage/swing bands, dixieland, marching and concert bands, as well as countless solo performances, overseas and stateside. In addition, he has served for over 11 years as a church/chapel pianist and is currently Music Director at Sudley United Methodist Church. Since moving to the DC metropolitan area, he has performed with various jazz, rock and Latin ensembles, recorded with original jazz and hip-hop artists, and performed classical music recitals as well as private events through the Washington Talent Agency. Eugene has over 10 years of private teaching under his belt and finds teaching young people a continual source of inspiration. His favorite artists include Bill Evans, Chick Corea, Herbie Hancock, Keith Jarrett, Miles Davis, the Mahavishnu Orchestra, J.S. Bach and Scriabin.

Mike Kelley teaches piano and coaches bands at B2R McLean. He has taught beginners as well as advanced students for over twenty years. Trained classically, Mike also has extensive experience in rock, country, pop, jazz and rhythm and Blues styles.Mike is also an accomplished Hammond organ player, and is a singer, songwriter and studio musician. His band "Mike Kelley and Friends" performs regularly in the Washington area. His influences include Oscar Peterson, Jimmy Smith, Keith Emerson, Leon Russell, and Ludwig Von Beethoven.

Marty MacAlister has taught drums, bass, guitar, recording arts, and coached bands at B2R McLean since 2008. He obtained degrees in Economics and Music from the George Washington University (2011) where he also designed and managed a state-of-the-art ProTools HD recording studio during his Junior and Senior years. His passion for recording led him to pursue an internship with producer J. Robbins (Office of Future Plans, Burning Airlines, Jawbox) during his winter and summer breaks from college. Marty currently plays bass for his DC-based ska/punk band, Kill Lincoln, and produced their debut album "You Were There." KL has toured the East Coast and opened for ska legends, The Toasters, as well as Big D and the Kids Table. Marty encourages his students to compose their own songs as part of their instruction, helping them create their own music during the early stages of learning their instruments. He is influenced most by metal, punk, and hardcore bands, but shines when he’s helping others find their musical inspiration.

Holly Montgomery is a bass, guitar, vocal instructor, piano instructor and band coach at B2R McLean. As the Los Angeles-based artist and songwriter for the power-trio HOLLY, she produced 3 CD's that are available on iTunes, Amazon, CDBaby, iLike, and ReverbNation. HOLLY was a regular at the House of Blues in West Hollywood in addition to the clubs on the Sunset Strip. With this band, she established herself as a rock singer-par excellence, in addition to her success as a bass player. Holly has been the bass player and/or singer for many bands and singer-songwriters, both live and in the studio, including Sonia Rutstein-Disappear Fear, Dan Bern, Ice Cube, The Mustangs, Big Planet - Bill White Acre, and Irish musician Mark Dignam. She has been active as a session player for various commercials and tv shows including playing for the American Comedy Awards soundtracks. After a busy career in Los Angeles, Holly moved to the D.C. area and took a hiatus from touring and recording after adopting 3 teenage kids from Kazakhstan. They grew up fast, and she is again recording and touring, having recently opened for Foreigner and The Swell Season. She has recently written songs for a number of charitable organizations that are being used as highlighted themes for national campaigns. Her latest solo recording project is with legendary drummer Aynsley Dunbar (Journey, Frank Zappa, David Bowie, Jefferson Starship), and guitarist Randall Hall (Lynyrd Skynyrd) and is due for release in late summer of 2010.

Evan Samuels teaches guitar, bass, trumpet and coaches bands at B2R Mclean. He has a degree in music and history from Skidmore College where he studied jazz, classical theory, and music technology. He is a consumate performer with experience playing at all types of venues in a wide range of styles; jazz, rock, blues, bluegrass, slide guitar, soul. He now gigs regularly in the DC area both on the jazz circuit and the local rock scene. Evan's influences range wide from classic guitarists like Duane Allman and Wes Montgomery to their present-day contemporaries including Derek Trucks and John Scofield to horn players, bassists, pianists and drummers.

August Shaner is an Early Education Teacher, beginner guitar instructor, and a Vocal and Piano private lessons instructor for Bach to Rock McLean. He has a BA in Music Education from the University of Maryland in College Park with a focus in Voice/Choral and General Music. August has over 10 years experience with choral groups in the Maryland area and 7 years of piano. Outside of teaching, he is also involved with local theater companies, both as a pit member and as an actor. With all of these areas of music to take from, August uses many different methods to help students become the best musicians they can be.

Nile Wartts is a music specialist and band coach at B2R McLean. He is originally from St. Louis, MO, and has played percussion since 1995. He has been a drumline musician during portions of his junior high school, senior high school, and college career. Outside of his formal education experiences with percussion, he has played in a gigging jazz quartet in St. Louis, taught private drum lessons for hire, and earned tips playing solo at select outdoor venues in Washington DC since his move to the tri-state area in late January 2009.

Ben Green is a recording engineer, teaches recording arts, and coaches bands at B2R McLean. Ben was a founding member of the indie band, Fairweather. He has a unique perspective on the music business, songwriting, and creative musical expression, derived from over 20 years of playing and 10 years of touring. As a recording arts instructor, he guides his students to develop a personal aesthetic and to apply their creativity to their instruments and compositions. Ben currently plays in the D.C. area and beyond with his band SEAS as well as Fairweather, and works as a freelance recordist. A few of his musical inspirations include J Robbins, Sam Cooke, John Fahey and Steve Albini.

Joshua Glenn teaches brass, piano, and beginner strings at B2R. He graduated from University of Maryland after performing in venues including Jack Kent Cooke Stadium and Giants Stadium during his years with the Mighty Sound of Maryland. He has taught in the Fairfax County Public Schools for over 8 years, coaching wind musicians in marching and concert settings. Josh was taught classically in Connecticut, performing in award-winning marching bands, string quartets and orchestras, and solo trumpet. While in Connecticut, he taught at the renowned Center for Creative Youth arts residency at Wesleyan University, teaching jazz, small ensemble, and African Drum, Dance, and Song. Josh currently performs regularly with the Saint Luke Lutheran Church Brass Ensemble in Silver Spring, MD. His musical inspirations include his wife Kate and his two pups, The Skatalites, Yo Yo Ma, Fat Boy Slim, and Michael Giacchino.
